Green Acres Cemetery located at 1485 Schatulga Road, Columbus, Georgia is the only perpetual care cemetery still family owned and operated in Columbus. Established in 1953, George H. Less, founder, had a vision of creating a beautiful and peaceful resting place for families of all faiths and creeds, not only in the surrounding areas, but across the country.
Since it’s opening, more than 14,000 citizens have been laid to rest in beautiful Green Acres Cemetery. We also have thousands more pre-planning for the future, and helping family members by alleviating the burden on them.

In 1953, the late George H. Less had a vision of creating a beautiful and peaceful resting place for families of all faiths and creeds. His legacy still lives on into its 3rd generation with much more property available to meet the needs of the families we serve.

The grandson to George H. Less, he graduated from Hardaway High School in Columbus in 1996. After high school he attended Columbus State University and then graduated in 2001 from Florida State University in Business Administration. From there Ben worked in sales with AFLAC and then decided to work with his grandfather, mother and father in the family business. Now he has over 20 years of experience with the cemetery and will continue the Legacy.

I have 20 years of equivalence in management and sales. I graduated from Kendrick High School. I have attended Chattahoochee Valley Community College. I have been with Green Acres Cemetery for over 10 years. As a Pre-Need counselor, I am very successful, and the families that have connections with Green Acres Cemetery are happy with the choices they have made. I look to twenty-five years of service in our community!

I retired from AFLAC after 16 years of service. I have been with Green Acres Cemetery for 11 years. I love working with my customers and with the company. It is wonderful place to work. I also love chocolate chip cookies.
